Versace Cologne: A Fragrance Review For Men
[I:http://iblogndax.vdhdesigns.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/02/EvelynBodhi23.jpg] In 2008, the fragrance Versace Pour Homme was launched by the designer house of Versace. The perfumer in charge of this creation was Alberto Morillas.
Versace Cologne is available in the eau de toilette concentration. Fragrances generally come in one of four types of concentrations: eau de cologne, eau de toilette, eau de parfum, and parfum (or perfume). Eau de cologne is made up of about 2% to 5% perfume oil; eau de toilette, 4% to 15% perfume oil; eau de parfum, 10% to 20% perfume oil; and parfum, 15% to 25% perfume oil. Therefore, the percentage of perfume oil in Versace Fragrance is 4% to 15%.
In 1983, Michael Edwards created a system for classifying fragrances called the Fragrance Wheel. According to this classification system, there are fourteen different Families. Versace Men is part of the Woody Oriental Family. The foremost notes of sandalwood and patchouli are characteristic of fragrances classified as Woody Oriental.
The Woody Oriental Family is further subdivided into four separate categories. These categories are called Fresh, Crisp, Classical, and Rich. These subcategories are all distinctly Woody Oriental, even though the fragrance notes get richer and deeper as you go from Fresh to Crisp to Classical to Rich. Versace for Men belongs to the Rich interpretation of the Woody Oriental Family.
Each fragrance goes through three different stages which are called Top, Middle, and Base Notes. These stages are due to the different fading rates of all the Fragrance Notes within a fragrance’s composition. Therefore, during the length of Versace Pour Homme’s life, certain phases will have a slightly different smell depending on which fragrance notes are still present, and which ones have already faded.
Top Notes are light, volatile, and evaporate rapidly. They are a perfume’s initial impression and last about 10 to 20 minutes. Top Notes for Versace Cologne consists of Rose de Mai, Bergamot, Neroli, and Citruses.
Middle Notes are the most prevalent, and last for almost the entirety of the fragrance’s life. The Middle Notes for Versace Men consist of Hyacinth, Clary Sage, Cedar and Geranium.
The Base Notes for Versace for Men are Tonka Bean, Amber and Musk. They consist of the longest lasting qualities of a perfume and help to slow down the evaporation of the lighter notes.
If you like the smell of Versace Pour Homme, you would possibly like other fragrances that belong to the Woody Oriental Family. A few suggestions are Spark for Men by Liz Claiborne, Ambre Baldessarini for Men, Bijan Nude for Men, Bois Du Portugal by Creed, and Boss Soul by Hugo Boss.
