I guess my GPS vent mount is from the same company because the mounts are compatible and now I don’t have to detach the vent piece when swapping between using my car and my wife’s car. This mount works great for the iPhone 4 and more than likely any smartphone or PDA. I use the dashboard mount, and it’s great. The suction cup is better than the one that is on my GPS, so I may order a second one.

Now I can keep my eyes on the road, use GPS, MP3 & blue tooth phone without looking down. Great quality and price too!

I would replace it with the same unit if it failed. AC clips don’t work all that great in the Ford Focus, but that’s okay. Turned out I’m using both – one in my car, another in my wife’s car. Two mounts for the price of one, and both mounts are constructed well, and very usable. It holds the phone nice and secure. I can listen over the cars speakers with the aux jack between the phone and the stereo and use the car charger all while being held nice and snug in this mount. You can adjust the bottom supports so they don’t get in the way of the charge port. Also, the side arms hold the phone securely without getting in the way of the volume rocker. The other seller was selling the exact same product with only one of the mounts for an additional $5, so this is a great deal compared to other sellers. I purchased this for my Droid Incredible and it fits perfectly, with the Otterbox case that I have for it.

I have used the product for a month now. Both the windshield and dashboard mount work exactly as they should, securely holding my phone (HTC Incredible) for navigation and multimedia purposes.

I was looking at the stock car dock by Verizon but did not like the fact that it couldn’t be mounted in my car where it would be easier to reach and to see without much effort. I had looked at a number of items here on Amazon before I found this, and I wish I had discovered it sooner and saved myself some time.

The Charging plug is open too just in case you want to plug your phone it while you use the GPS to keep your battery going. The Arkon car mount is definitely best in its price range. Overall it is a worthwhile purchase. Inexpensive, functional, and it definitely can work with a smart phone with a case on. Very difficult to adjust and if not put just right then it may be a little shaky. I gave this a 4 star review because the vent mount does not hold at all; I was aware of previous people’s comments on that issue but still went ahead and got it.

My disappointment with this product is that it only worked for me with the windscreen mount. The air vent mount, which is what I wanted to use, was much too flimsy and the weight of the phone (Galaxy S2) moves the product back and forth every time you turn the car (and I’m no speed demon!) On the windscreen it works well.

If it works just great for this phone with the Otterbox, it will work for any phone. I have it on the windshield and haven’t had any problems at all, great product!
