For the money (SUPER CHEAP) this mount was probably as good as any. I am sure I am getting what I paid for!

I needed a mount to replace the proprietary mount for my GPS, so I could mount my dinc2, and it works. Haven’t tried the vent clips, but the window mount sticks well and hasn’t fallen off. I am ordering a 2nd one for my other car. It is cheap and works well connected to the vent. I also got her a GPS program for her iPhone too. I ended up using the suction cup on the windshield.

In addition, once mounted, however temporarily, neither provides a sufficiently stable platform for an iPod or an iPhone (I tried with both). This item is made of very cheap plastic and broke within the first 6 weeks. The suction cup for the windshield is nice and heavy duty and doesn’t let go in the hot sun the way my Garmin will. The vent clip fits on both my old S70 Volvo and my wife’s Audi but isn’t quite as tight gripped onto the fins of the vent as I would like.

I tried every possible orientation of the phone, and none would allow access to all phone ports and power button. That said, the modification was not a big deal, and the holder works fine. There is easy access to battery chargers and aux outlets and the bottom holders adjust to fit an iPod charger. Great little product I returned a cup holder type phone holder for my HTC Evo because it was too distracting.

Can turn phone to landscape view by just turning while in the mount. It doesn’t bounce too much while driving.

I like the possibility of having a phone mount on my vent b/c it keeps my line of sight clear, the phone closer to me, and keeps the phone cool. I have a Samsung galaxy and it fits great and I am able to charge at the same time. Using dash mount, very adjustable and holds the phone well. Product seems pretty fragile so I try my best not to move it but it works for the most part.

I’m not sure about the vent mount because I won’t be using it because it will block my vent and I live in TX and it’s in the 100s every day and I need my vents. The windshield mount I tried and it stayed on well also but seemed to be in the way of my view for everyday use but would come in handy on long trips needing GPS. I also didn’t have any trouble with the volume controls being overlapped. As for the mount itself, it is what it is, cheap and functional. I bought this mount for my iPhone 4s and it works great! I use it in my ac vent. Have to switch to windshield mount. This mount worked perfectly.
