Seven months after the disappearance and murder of student Brianna Denison. A 19 years old student from Santa Barbara, California, disappeared while visiting friends at the University of Nevada, Reno.
She was last seen sleeping on a sofa in the living room of a non-campus apartment of a friend the night after the party. Friends were shocked to find a missing Denison, a small blood stain at her pillow. Her shoes, kabelku and mobile phone were left.
Three weeks later, her body was found, and on some layer of snow in a nearby field. It will have been sexually abused and choked. The attacker left behind an unusual “calling card.” The police says, the perpetuator has a fetish for women’s underwear, and takes them from his victims.
A pair of black thong panties were found along Denison’s body but for some reason it does not belong to the victim and the DNA found belongs to another unidentified woman.
Police were looking for a woman who lost a pair of black thong panties with a pink panther cartoon and the heart design, small size. The police were also able to link the DNA found in previous crimes, sexual violence, that took place on 16 December involving a student from other university. She managed to escape her attacker and described him in detail to the police.
The authorities claimed that the crimes bear striking similarities with a number of other attacks in the area, leading the police to conclude that Denison’s serial killer is most likely living or working in the area. The attacks took place near each other, similar time of day, using similar methods.
